WHY ISN’T PRESIDENT DONALD JOHN TRUMP AND REPUBLICANS LOOKING INTO MEDICAL PRICING? DOES NOT PRESIDENT DONALD JOHN TRUMP AND REPUBLICANS REALIZE THAT MEDICAL MALPRACTICES CASES KEEP THE SOME VERY BAD DOCTORS OR GREEDY DOCTORS SOMEWHAT HONEST?

For weeks I have been writing on the greedy nature of Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and its Heart Surgery Physicians at the price of Elders who were living on their own and doing just fine until the doctor opted for the most expensive procedure rather than one (1) that would have stabilized a patient and given her quality of life.

There are meetings at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center with Administrators and Physicians to discuss using the most profitable procedure for patients.

In Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, many patients that are  Elders that comes in the door is subjected to a colonoscopy and endoscopy.  Many are forced to spend several nights in the Emergency Room where they are subjected to all sorts of germs and infections and then the Hospital denies the infection came from the Emergency Room.

Medical Malpractice keeps negligent hospitals and doctors and medical professionals honest. We cannot do away with it under President Donald John Trump’s American Health Care Act or subsequent proposals. Doing away with malpractice will compromise patient safety.  It will insulate very greedy doctors or very bad doctors, which may be few and far between, but exist.

The doctors should be required to tell the patient the price they are charging for a procedure and a less intrusive alternative procedure, if there is one. Patients could then better assess the doctor’s pecuniary interest in performing the procedure.

No patient should have a “Pollyanna like” view of the medical profession.  Unfortunately, the medical profession has many who are greedy.  Money has become our God in this society.

Remember the 1980s, the doctors charged whatever they wanted and medical costs got out of control.  What did the doctors get by reason of this out-of-control, pricing out of the private market and insurance.  Now insurance controls what the physicians charges.  Let us not forget the Health Care Industry is the BIGGEST LOBBY in the United States of America. Let us have doctors tell patients what they are charging and if they charge inappropriately, let the system we have in place, Medical Malpractice and Negligence claims be the answer to the public in regard to a doctor’s greed, request for unnecessary procedures, and  poor quality and outcomes.

We realize President Donald Trump must compromise, but let us not compromise on issues that are important to the public.

We understand that most doctors are honest, but money has become the new “God” in our society.

Let us TRUST but VERIFY, as President Reagan wisely stated years ago.
