HOW MANY CHILDREN ARE SENT TO FACILITIES BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO ATTEND SCHOOL AND TO WHAT SOCIO-ECONOMIC GROUP AND TO WHAT ETHNICITY TO MANY OF THESE CHILDREN BELONG?

There are many neglect proceedings brought in Nassau County and Suffolk County by Child Protective Services and the Office of Family Services for failure of children to attend school.  There are also various Juvenile Delinquency Proceedings.

Children are placed in a facility where they are forced to comply with certain rules.

Is this in the children’s interest?

Apparently, Child Protective Services and Attorneys for the Children are not as vigorous in protecting children from sexual abuse by a step-parent.

Should not we consider providing parents with the means needed to help the children attend school on a regular basis?

Isn’t it time that we tailor and education program that is suited for all children rather than locking them up as they are beginning their lives.

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to assist parents rather than having children who otherwise are behaved institutionalized?

How much money does our Federal Government or State Government spend on these institutions?
