IN DIVORCE PROCEEDINGS AND FAMILY LAW CASES, WHY IS NOT THE COURT AWARDING CHILD CARE EXPENSES AND COLLEGE COSTS? SHOULDN’T THE AWARD OF CHILD CARE EXPENSES AND COLLEGE EXPENSES BE MANDATORY?

Many Courts in New York do not award child care expenses after trial.  I had one attorney Thomas P. Burke tell me  that my client should leave her 7 and 11 year old home alone.  Why that is just great!  I am sure the Office of Family Services might have something to say about leaving a 7 and 11 year old home alone.  It is time for the Courts to concern themselves with the children and it is time for Attorneys for the Children to represent their clients and make sure that the client they represent receives adequate support as well as access to both parents.
