AS A BUSINESS OWNER WHO WAS A VICTIM OF CYBER-BULLYING, THERE SHOULD BE LEGISLATION ENACTED SO PROTECT VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILIES AGAINST POSTERS WHO DO NOT STATE THEIR NAMES

Posting reviews on-line seems to be constitutionally protected.

However, posting anonymously should not be allowed.

If you have something to say about someone, you should be allowed to say it.

But you should be required to put your name on the post.

At one time my family (at the time two (2) very young children) and I were victims of cyber-bullying by someone who posted nonsensensical information online.

This poster took on many “on-line” personalities and names and the posting was done so the poster did not have to take responsibility for paying her bill.

She effectively was “judgment proof” because she declared bankruptcy after she took all of the assets out of her name before she declared bankruptcy.

She then went after her Chapter 7 bankruptcy Trustee and followed the Trustee and interfered in his divorce proceedings when he tried to demonstrate she engaged in fraudulent conduct.

If this individual wanted to post, it would seem that she should be allowed to do so as long as she puts her name on the post.  However, to post against two (2) very young children when she has a perceived problem with the business owner is outside the bounds of acceptable behavior.

The only way to stop her behavior, which is beyond the pale, is to force her to put her name on each and every post so that everyone knows that every single negative post was from the same person, who is one (1) very disturbed individual.

I suppose this very disturbed individual did not care about the impact her posts would have upon two (2) very young children and their future careers.

That is why legislation is warranted requiring posters to provide their information, and if they are “judgment proof”, then cyber-bullying victims should be able to obtain a restraining order against the cyber-bullier until she is able to post a bond to payany damages she may cause by reason of her false posting.
